自1980年起制定催眠證書的標準 美國催眠醫師考試局的成立及目的 1973年，美國催眠醫師考試局為一非牟利專業團體，著重正規和適合的教育及培訓，會員雖通過筆試及實習示範合格，才可申請為會員並需遵守會規 。 Gil Boyne 被選為主席，於1980年將發展成國際性的學會，全球已簽發多達10,000張以上的證書，會員有精神科醫生、心理學家、心理輔導員等有關專業人士。從 Gil Boyne, Tim Simmerman 到現在 Dr John Butler 為主席，都以培育及制定催眠標準為首要工作。 各地分會負責筆試、實習示範及登記，證書由美國催眠醫師考試局統一簽發。 在美國、加拿大、英國、澳洲、紐西蘭、中國、伊朗、南非皆有設立分會。 2005年，美國催眠醫師考試局 (中國分會) 於香港成立，Rene Lien PhD. 連峻博士被選為主席。    American Council of Hypnotist Examiners Gil Boyne, Executive Director 700 S. Having been admitted to hospital and been given a diagnosis a week previously, he told his wife Ann that he was very ready to go, that he wanted to pass away at home and he didnt want to linger. He left hospital on 4th May, arrived home and passed away around 8.45 on Wednesday morning. His wife, his daughter and his grandchildren were with him. He was 85 years old.
